Cross Promo Power Grid: The Most Powerful A+ Content Module for Authors
Hey Mini Book Masters,
This Mini Book Monday I’m continuing a deep dive tutorial into my favorite A+ Content Models that you can add to your Amazon book listing to look like a “real” published author.
This is a part of a chapter in my upcoming book “Dam the Amazon: How to Self-Publish Your Book and Generate Demand for Your Business Using the Largest Bookstore in the World that will be released October 15th.
Enjoy the early access and thank you for being a part of the Mini Book Publishing newsletter!
Time to help you sell more books.
Cross Promo Power Grid
As an author, there is no easier upsell than introducing interested readers to other books of yours.
That is what makes the Cross Promo Power Grid such an amazing tool in your marketing arsenal. While there isn't an official A+ content module by that name, that's how I personally think of it. The module you're going to use is called the "Comparison" module.
We'll be having your potential reader compare your books to other books you've written.
Creating Book Mock Ups
The first step to creating your own Cross Promo Power Grid is creating book mock-ups. Inside your A+ content, select the "Standard Comparison Chart" module.
Once you've added that, you'll see you need images for your comparison chart. You could load your flat book covers used for your Kindle books, but I find that too boring. I’ve tried several software for book mock-ups and have also had designers on Fiverr make them for me. I’ll walk you through using Book Brush, a tool like Canva but designed for book projects and so it isn't as robust a software. (Currently, Canva doesn't do book mock-ups.)
Step 1 in Book Brush is to upload or select your cover (if you've uploaded it in the past) and select "3D" covers in step 2. Step 3 is to choose the 3D mock-up you like. Then Step 4 is to click the "Convert Now" button at the bottom of the screen.
When it's done processing, click the "Download Now" button to get your new mock-up. Now either use Canva or Book Brush to create a 150 x 300 pixels image, add your cover, and download it.
The size of your 3D mock-up now perfectly matches the comparison chart requirements.
Do this for each book you want to list in your comparison table. Now head back to your A+ content standard comparison module. Add your mock-up as the thumbnail image. Type in the title of the book. Go to your book's listing page, find the ASIN in the specs section, and paste it into the ASIN field in the chart.
Click "Add Metric" to add a new row of information to your comparison chart. Type in "Description" as the metric name. Underneath each book in your new Description row will appear a dropdown menu. Change that to "Text." Input a brief description of each book you are comparing (the shorter the better).
Do this for each book and your Cross Promo Power Grid will be complete.
The system automatically imports the reviews and purchase links based on the ASIN you input.
